We had a band of four titmice fledge in the yard this year. The pack was a regular feature at the bird bath and feeders through the whole summer. They especially loved emptying out the peanut feeder made out of a log that I hollowed out with my drill press. It made a great backdrop for photos and sketches. Although the woodpeckers are rapidly destroying the log to get at the peanuts, it is much more natural looking than the cedar and plexiglass one that I made.

I am just starting woodburning crafting
And it is going well. I was wondering if you would let me use or purchase the right to use your tufted titmouse sketch as a pattern. I am thinking of entering my first craft show this fall and people have said The ones I have done so far are good enough to to show. I am not doing this in big volumes. I may use your sketch on 3 or 4 plaques. I love birds and living in New England they are popular.
I hope to hear from you
Matt
Hi Paula, Thanks for expressing interest in the artwork. I’ve seen lots of neat artwork done with woodburning and I’m sure yours is great! At this point I’m not licensing my work to other artists. I would definitely encourage you to invest some extra time into daily sketching. It sounds like you are already well along that path. Even a small amount of time like 15 minutes a day can lead to HUGE strides in skill. This was advice given to me ages ago that I took to heart. As your abilities increase you’ll naturally spend more and more time drawing and end up with loads of great artwork that is 100% yours, unique…all ready for an awesome woodburning project. Best of luck! Matt
