Its no secret that I like insects. Well, not ALL insects I guess. I’m not that crazy about mosquitoes. I can’t stand ticks and chiggers, but those aren’t insects are they! I took parasitology as an undergrad and realized that there are all sorts of horrific insects. While many were downright disgusting, they were utterly fascinating. If you aren’t too squeamish read the book Parasite Rex by Carl Zimmer.
Oh yeah, where was I? Insects! I’m not 100% sure of the ID on this particular fly. I took a bunch of photos with the macro of this tiny guy that I sketched from.
