Page 50. I’m now halfway through my hard bound sketchbook without any major artistic disasters! The pressure is on to have a strong finish in the second half. The cover and binding of the sketchbook is starting to get pretty ratty. I’ve had to do a repair or two to the binding already. I choose the hardbound sketchbooks for many reasons which I discussed in this post. If I tear out a page of the hard bound sketchbook it will show and other pages might fall out because of the stitching. This forces me to try very hard not to have any bad sketches that I’d want to rip out. Not that every drawing is ready to frame and hang on a wall, but I do strive to keep them all at a high standard.
This sketch is of a male Crested Wood Partridge from the Potter Park Zoo here in Lansing. They seem to be pretty popular zoo specimens.
